Police released the image – believe to have been captured on closed circuit television at a Bathurst service station - on the Chifley LAC Facebook page on Thursday.
They believe he can assist officers with their inquiries into an ongoing investigation.
Anyone who can identify the man is urged to contact Bathurst police on 6332 8699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
