The rugby union club has been a long-time supporter of the school, contributing more than $100,000 in donations in the past 15 years.

The club recently added another $8125 to that tally.

Carenne teacher Janelle Kemp said students had enjoyed many benefits thanks to the club’s ongoing donations.

In the past 15 years, donations have gone towards a range of therapy equipment, sports gear, playground equipment and the school’s hydrotherapy pool room.

“It’s made a huge difference to the students of our school because special needs equipment is very expensive,” Ms Kemp said.

“It’d be out of our reach.”

Bulldogs treasurer Matt Sharwood said it had been a pleasure to support the school.

“It’s one of our proudest achievements,” he said.

“We just love what they do up here, it’s such a fantastic cause. 

“Everyone gets right behind them.”

Mr Sharwood said funds are raised through the club’s annual memorial day.

“We wear special jerseys and auction them off and then donate the money to Carenne,” Mr Sharwood said.

Ms Kemp said the latest donation from the Bulldogs will go towards fitting out the school’s gymnasium.

The room is currently sparse, with cold, concrete floors, but that will soon change.

Funds will go towards providing a more appropriate soft flooring and therapy gym equipment for students to use.
