The ladies of the Country Women's Association (CWA) Bathurst Evening Branch will be among a host of local food, wine and beer producers who will serve up tasty delights at Saturday’s Ignite the Night festival in Kings Parade.
The event, which runs from 4-9pm, is part of the 15-day Bathurst Winter Festival which will take part in and around Kings Parade.
CWA Bathurst Evening Branch Jan Young said the group's members wanted to be part of the winter festival's opening night.
"It looks like a good awareness activity and good fundraising activity," she said.
On the night they will be serving up two piping hot soups - potato, bacon and leek, and Moroccan pumpkin.
"We're making 300 serves of soup with sourdough. It'll be around 120 to 130 litres of soup," Mrs Young said.
Funds raised by the CWA's soup stand will go to supporting a number of community groups.
A range of other food and wine stalls will also feature on Saturday night with selections including toasted sandwiches, lamb stew, roast beef rolls, apple pie and custard, along with a host of local wine and beer selections.
An ice-skating rink will also return to the winter festival, but this time it will be bigger and better and located on Russell Street outside Bathurst Court House.
The ice rink will be open every day of the festival with $5 children's tickets (age 2-13) and $10 for those aged 14 years and above.
An illumination light show will also make a return to the city's central business district, this year the theme is 'fire and ice'.
The second street event to be held in Kings Parade during the Bathurst Winter Festival will be Brew and Bite on Saturday, July 9.
Brew and Bite will get underway from 4pm, with the family invited to rug up and come along to the street festival to be held in and around Kings Parade.
The night will feature a pop-up bar and food will take on a distinct street food feel.
