The series featured 10 heats, two of which were staged at the Bathurst Paceway last Wednesday. Grimson finished on 83 points to get the nod, while Turnbull was fifth on 73.
The Rising Stars crown continued a meteoric rise through the ranks of harness racing for Grimson, who's season included his first Group 1 success at Bathurst aboard Dont Think Twice in the Gold Tiara.
"I barely knew half these drivers before this week but now I can say they are friends for life," Grimson, who is based in Young, said.
"I've had a fair bit of luck this week because I got to drive some nice horses. It's been a really good trip.”
