Amongst those players to catch his eye were talented juniors from Kelso’s Holy Family School. They finished as runners-up in the prestigious Peachey Shield, going down 16-8 to Cowra’s Mulyan Public School in the decider.
Kyle Allen and Tyler Sharwood both scored tries in the final for Holy Family.
Parramatta Eels legend Hindmarsh was the special guest at Caltex Park and was on hand to see the emerging league talents in action.
“It was a great day and one of the many of the shields they play for, this being Peachey and Richardson, but there’s the Andrew Ryan Cup and others in this region and they’re all great days,” he said.
