Violin virtuoso, Attilla Sautov, will join guest pianist from Germany, Oleg Poliansky, to perform at the cathedral on Sunday, July 3 at 2pm.
Mr Sautov performed an unaccompanied solo recital in Bathurst earlier this year, and was praised for both his technical skill and his warm human connection.
Before a performance he often welcomes people at the door himself, and his recitals are interspersed with entertaining anecdotes of what happened during his career.
Together with Mr Poliansky, Mr Sautov will perform duets including Massenet’s Meditation from the opera Thais, plus works by Bach, Handel, Gluck, Mozart, Paganini, Bazzini, Brahms and Kreisler.
Mr Poliansky will also showcase solo piano pieces by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky, plus one of Beethoven’s most popular compositions, the Moonlight Sonata.
