After a brilliant start to 2016, Pat’s have surrendered first place on the ladder. Last Saturday they lost 3-0 to Souths, but co-captain Ekert saw plenty to like as well.
“We were disappointed to lose for sure, but we had a massive amount of short corners and they only had one more circle penetration than us, the difference was we didn’t finish off and they did,” he said.
“The mood afterwards was surprisingly good because we have been trying to change a few things with our style of hockey. I think that has been our downfall lately, I think people have been getting used to how we play, so we want to change things up.
“I think we did that against Souths.”
This Saturday at 12.20pm St Pat’s meet a Bathurst City side they have beat twice this season – 12-0 then 11-0. Ekert would love to replicate those efforts.
