Mr Jenner traveled to Sydney for a two-day audition on June 26 and June 27.
After a positive initial audition in Orange, the Bathurst musician chose to belt out Grace Kelly by MIKA for celebrity judges Iggy Azalea, Adam Lambert and Guy Sebastian.
“It didn’t go to plan,” Mr Jenner admitted. “I only got one yes and I needed two to get through.”
To his surprise, it was rapper Azalea who gave him the thumbs up, the one judge he thought he’d have to work the hardest to win over.
Despite not getting to the next stage of the competition, the judges and show host did provide him with positive feedback on his range.
Mr Jenner believes it was the diverse talent on show and the new three-judge format that prevented him from moving forward.
“For this season, they couldn't pick where they could fit me and that was the only reason I didn’t get through,” he said.
Mr Jenner intends to audition again next year and will look into singing lessons and solo work to polish his performance.
