When Sam Hill and Dom Maley come back, Sullivan will face some tough decisions in picking CYMS’ 17.
While a substantial number of CYMS’ guns pick themselves – think the likes of Ben McAlpine, Tim Mortimer, Simon Osborne and Mitch Davis – Sullivan will face the unenviable prospect of balancing the remainder of the side.
“[There will be] some selection headaches over the next few weeks but that’s a pretty good problem for us to have,” Sullivan said.
“I was really pleased with [Bubb and Cousins against Lithgow].
“I thought Brenden was outstanding, he didn’t hesitate at all in defence like people sometimes do after those jaw injuries and Bubby, well he just did what he always does.
“We’re in a good place at this time of the season, we’ve got Cowra next Sunday so we’ll look to keep things going there.”
One player who looks likely to be guaranteed a place in CYMS’ side, on the back of his performance in Sunday’s victory in particular, is second-rower Larsen Marabe.
Marabe charged over for a first half double in Sunday’s 46-4 group 10 premier league win over Workies and although he had four errors next to his name by full-time, Sullivan said the good far outweighs the bad with the former Papua New Guinea international.
Although, he did limp from the field late in the win, sparking some chatter about a potential injury.
“Larsen hits it that hard he’s very hard to stop, he’s been outstanding for us all year,” Sullivan said.
“There was a few handling errors there (on Sunday) but the way he plays, it’s great to have him on our side and you can handle mistakes every now and then.
“He’s fantastic defensively as well, he just builds confidence in the rest of the side.”
With Sunday’s win CYMS remain on top of the table leading into Sunday’s clash with Cowra, which will mark former fullback Tim Bassmann’s first game at Wade Park since linking with the Magpies this year.
