Goldminers won every quarter on their way to knocking over the home side 72-45 in Saturday night’s top-of-the-table meeting.
Captain Teagan Burke was top scorer for the Goldminers with 31 points while Rachel Murray contributed strongly with 16 points.
“It was probably one of our best games of the season,” Goldminers coach Jo Cafe said.
“We have so many people that can make an impact and score. Because of that they found it hard to match up with us.
“After seeing Wagga play at the central venue round we hoped they wouldn’t change the way they played too much. We worked hard over the last couple of weeks on how to best counter them based on that.
“Defensively we were very good. We didn’t give them too many opportunities to score.”
Goldminers got off to a slow start, conceding the first seven points, before fighting back in a scrappy opening quarter to be up 13-7.
From there the Bathurst squad began to hit their shots and take the Blaze out of the game, going up 32-17 at half-time and finishing in style with a 22-11 final quarter.
