Mrs Morris was born in Bathurst in 1917, the fourth of 10 children, and has spent her life in the city ever since.
She may be just a year away from receiving a letter from the Queen, but Mrs Morris is way too busy to be thinking about her age.
She said the secrets to a long and happy life were simple – eating well, exercise and laughter.
“I cook a lot, all sorts of things – cakes, baked dinners and casseroles,” she said.
Mrs Morris played golf for 54 years, and while she might not hit the course anymore, she spent her birthday playing cards with her old golfing buddies at Bathurst Golf Club.
She said she was lucky to still have good health and only handed back her drivers licence two weeks ago.
One of Mrs Morris’ favourite jobs during her lifetime was working at the City Candy Store (located where Pantano's Bar and Grill now stands) which was next to the then City Theatre.
