The holidays robbed the students of much-needed numbers in last round’s loss to Orange City and they will look to come back bigger and beeter against the competition’s second-placed side.
“The general consensus from the team was that we took things a bit lightly coming into the City game,” CSU club captain Jarrod Hyde said.
“They’re one of those three teams that are just a level above everyone else. If we want to be playing football against teams like Emus, City and Dubbo we’ve got to improve mentally and physically.
“Sean O’Sullivan is back and Tom Westcott is another one we missed last week. They’re two guys who have been playing some great football for us.”
CSU currently sit 13 points off the fifth-placed Cowra Eagles.
Hyde said if his team can upset the Platypi on their home turf then it’s not too late to think about finals.
“Forbes have got a good pack again this year and are quite handy in the backs. They’ve beaten a few teams this year but I think the boys can beat them,” he said.
“We’ve got a run of games coming up against teams that are at our level or slightly above. It’s not too late for us.”
