Two trial runs have been held by organisers and keen runners over the past month.
An original plan to launch on July 23 was put on hold when flood waters overtook the path along the Macquarie River.
Runners and walkers are now invited to join organisers at Bicentennial Park at 8am on Saturday, July 30 for the five kimometre walk or run around the river.
Parkrun is a free timed event that relys on community volunteers and support. The aim is to improve your own time each week, rather than compete against others.
