Rebecca Anne Collerson, 42, of Daly Street West Bathurst, appeared before visiting magistrate Darryl Pearce in Bathurst Local Court on July 11.
The court heard how at 3.50pm on April 8, Collerson was observed leaving a residential property in Orange suspected of being used for the sale of prohibited drugs.
She left the location, entered her car and drove away.
Police followed the car, stopping it in Wolsley Street Orange.
Police spoke with Collerson and her partner, and was informed she would be searched as police had reasonable grounds to suspect she was in possession of a prohibited drug.
A female officer attended and the accused was searched in the rear of the police vehicle.
During the search a clear resealable plastic bag containing white crystal was located in the accused’s underpants. The drugs were seized by police.
Collerson was placed under arrest, cautioned and interviewed. She told police the white crystal was ‘ice’ and clarified this to be methamphetamine and told officers she intended on smoking it.
She said she had purchased it for $150 adding it “was four points or 0.4 grams.”
The drugs were taken to Orange Police Station, photographed and weighed.
Mr Pearce convicted Collerson of possession of a prohibited drug, fined her $1,000 and ordered the drug be destroyed.
