A statement from Greyhound Racing NSW said Keith Selten was called before the stewards after one of his dogs ran into the running rail during a trial.
“[The dog] was required to undergo an inspection by the on-track veterinarian,” the GRNSW statement said.
“During the inspection it is alleged Mr Selten threatened that he may as well euthanase his dog if it was issued with a 30 day-period of incapacitation.”
Mr Selten’s comment was reported to the steward in charge of the meeting and he was called to explain his behaviour.
“During the interview with the on track stewards it is alleged that Mr Selten physically assaulted a GRNSW steward,” the statement said.
