A TIP-OFF from the community has led to the arrest of a man who police allege defrauded an elderly woman of thousands of dollars.

Earlier this week police made an appeal for help to locate the man they wanted to question over the incident.
The man will face court next month after the victim was allegedly defrauded of $6500.
It is alleged the man offered to undertake roof repairs on the woman's house and she paid him $6500.
The work was not carried out.
On Wednesday afternoon, police were called by a member of the public to Havannah Street, Bathurst where they spoke to a 26-year-old man.
He was arrested and taken to Bathurst Police Station.
The 26-year-old Liverpool man was charged with three counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception.
He was granted conditional bail to appear in Bathurst Local Court on Monday 22 August 2016.
The man has also been charged in relation to similar offences that occurred in the Taree area during August 2015.
