It is that same elation Nissan Australia boss Richard Emery wants to experience at Mount Panorama next February.
His Australian branch of the manufacturer purchased its own GT-R from Nismo ahead of this year’s Bathurst 12 Hour, a race in which they placed second behind the Tekno Autosports McLaren.
Since then the GT3 has not been raced, so Emery is planning to enter it in the Australian GT’s season-ending round New Zealand.
That November 11-12 event at Highlands Park would be used as part of the team’s 2017 Bathurst 12 Hour preparation.
“We would like to give the car a run before we get back to Bathurst,” Emery told Speedcafe.com
“It hasn’t turned a wheel since Bathurst and we’d like to expose a few of these [Kelly Racing] guys to how it runs and get our drivers back behind the wheel.
“I have a responsibility for New Zealand as well. They only get the Supercars once a year and extending our motor sport platform across New Zealand is important.
“At the moment it is not a definite, but if we can fit a competitive race in the GT championship that would be ideal.”
