Giants kicked three of their goals in a strong third quarter at Bloomfield Oval but the Tigers showed their experience in the final term where they held the Bathurst side scoreless.
“Orange had a really strong side and had a couple of good players back for them,” Giants coach Mark Kennedy said.
“Sam Sloan got our player’s player award in his first senior game. He took a couple of good marks and kicked some difficult goals in the third quarter.
“Our ball movement was really good in the third quarter. We were working together really well as a team.”
Sloan kicked two goals for the Giants while Mitch Taylor, Andrew Nelson and Brydon Slattery also kicked majors for the visitors.
