FLOODWATERS have swept into Perthville homes for the second time in two weeks with a number of properties inundated by water.
State Emergency Service and NSW Rural Fire Service crews were called out overnight on Tuesday to sandbag a number of properties as water from the swollen Queen Charlotte’s Vale Creek edged closer to homes.
A number of sheep were rescued by emergency crews overnight as fast-moving floodwaters entered their paddocks and the animals became trapped.

- CLOSED – Ophir Road – water over causeway near Abercrombie House
- OPEN – Vale Road – vehicle can pass under escort
- OPEN – Russell Street

A NUMBER of roads have since reopened after they were closed by floodwaters on Wednesday morning.
These include:
- Russell Street
- Vale Road, open but traffic movements are under escort
Roads still closed:
- Hereford Street – water over low level bridge
- Lloyds Road – Water over the road between Vale and Gorman’s Hill roads
- Lagoon Road – Water over rd at intersection with Vale Road

BATHURST Buslines town services are now running.

HEN and Chicken Lane has now been reopened and is currently under traffic control.

MACKILLOP College is closed today due to flooding.

BATHURST Buslines routes around the city, including school services, are not operating due to flooding.
A statement on the company’s website said police advised the stoppage.
“Bathurst Buslines have been advised by police that due to flooding in the area our buses will not be able to leave the depot to operate any route and school services today until further notice,” the statement reads.

A MINOR food warning has been issued for the Macquarie River at Bathurst.
The river is expected to peak near 4.2 metres around 10am Wednesday with minor flooding.
A NSW State Emergency Service (SES) alert says up to 48 millimetres of rain has fallen during the past 12 hours to midnight Tuesday, but this has eased on Wednesday morning.
At 5am this morning the Macquarie River at Bathurst was 3.41 metres and rising.
The following roads are closed;
- Vale Road - from Lloyds Road to the Lagoon Road.
- Lagoon Road at intersection with Vale Road.
- Lloyds Road between Vale Road and Gormans Hill Road.
- Russell Street between railway underpass and Torpys Bridge.
- Hereford Street at low level Bridge (Gordon Edgell Bridge).
- Hen and Chicken Lane. Note: work currently being completed to Hen and Chicken Lane, to bring back to trafficable state.
Flooding of low lying farmlands is also likely to occur.
Farmers and landholders are advised to immediately move pumps and other equipment, livestock, stock feed and chemicals from low-lying areas near the river to higher ground.
Flooding is occurring along the Georges Plains Creek at Georges Plains and the Vale Creek at Perthville.
Never drive ride or walk through floodwater. Remember if its Flooded Forget it.
