Zac Raymond Kessey, 20 of Bilmann Place in Windradyne, appeared before magistrate Michael Allen in Bathurst Local Court on July 25, charged with destroy or damage property.
He appeared in person and was represented by Legal Aid solicitor Leigh Haywood.
The court heard at about 5.45pm, on July 11 this year, Kessey damaged the small front window of a property in Suttor Street because “he got angry.”
Police facts tendered to the court told how on Monday July 11, the victim, Kessey’s mother, was at home with two teenage girls when Kessey went to the property.
He knocked on the front door, and the victim let him in the house but a verbal argument began between the two.
A short time later Kessey walked out of the house and the victim closed the door behind him.
But after he walked out Kessey turned around and punched a small glass window positioned to the right of the door, causing the glass to break.
As a result Kessey suffered a small cut to his finger, before leaving the area and returning to his home in Bilmann Place.
The victim called the police and at around 7.10pm they attended the victim’s property and spoke to her, before going to Kessey’s house where he was cautioned and arrested.
Police placed him in the rear of their vehicle and took him back to the station.
Kessey told police he ‘knew they was coming’ because he had ‘told my mum to call you.’
“I knew I shouldn’t have punched the window as soon as I did it,” he said.
“I did it because I was angry and mum had pissed me off.”
In an interview recorded by police Kessey said he had an argument with his mum and felt like “I was going to hurt her so I punched the window.”
Mr Allen convicted Kessey, placing him on a section 9 Bond for 12 months and ordered Kessey to accept Community Corrections supervision.
