A DRINK-DRIVER who came to the attention of police after they observed him leaving the Dudley Hotel has been convicted and fined after appearing before Bathurst Local Court.

Mitchell Anthony Colley, 20, of Mountain Straight, Mount Panorama, appeared before Magistrate Michael Allen in Bathurst Local Court charged with low range PCA.
Police facts tendered to the court told how at 9.25pm on June 3 this year, Colley was seen driving a Holden Rodeo on Lambert Street.
He had come under the notice of police as they were patrolling Lambert Street, they saw him leaving the Dudley Hotel.
Police pulled him over and advised Colley he was being stopped for a random breath test, and warned him the conversation was being recorded.
Police asked Colley if he had been drinking, and he told officers he had been.
A road side breath test returned a positive result.
Colley was arrested and taken to Bathurst Police Station, and after 15 minute observation period taken to the breath analysis room, where he recorded a reading of 0.073, placing him in the low range.
He told officers he had been drinking schooners of Carlton Dry, and consumed three of them between 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
The court was told Colley had undertaken the traffic offenders program.
Colley’s employer described him as “usually reliable” said he was disappointed when Colley told him what happened.
Mr Allen convicted Colley, fining him $350. He was also disqualified from driving for three months.
