THE driver of a car involved in a fatal crash that killed a 56-year-old Orange woman on Sunday, was refused bail in Orange Local Court on Tuesday morning.

Bodie Brown, 21, of Queensland was not in court when his bail was refused by Magistrate Terry Lucas.
Brown was charged with a number of offences including dangerous driving occasioning death, negligent driving occasioning death, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, cause bodily harm by misconduct, unlicensed driving and not keep left of driving line.
About 12.45pm on Sunday, August 7 Brown was driving a Holden Commodore travelling east on the Mitchell Highway at Vittoria, when it collided with another Holden Commodore that was travelling west.
A 56-year-old male driver of the westbound vehicle was taken to Orange hospital for treatment to minor injuries. His wife, a 56-year-old woman, died at the scene.
Brown was taken to Orange hospital with a fractured cheek and his 16-year-old female passenger was also taken to Orange hospital suffering a fractured wrist.
Brown was released from hospital on Monday and taken to Orange Police Station for questioning.
A brief will be prepared for the court by September 26 with the reply due on October 10.
