To celebrate Family History Month and to launch its updated website, the Hill End and Tambaroora Gathering Group, in conjunction with Hill End Family History, will hold an open day in the Royal Hall on Saturday, August 27 from 11am to 4pm.
Organisers say on display will be some of the many treasures that have been collected under the combined efforts of the two groups.
The updated website (www.heatgg.org.au) will be launched by Bathurst mayor Gary Rush at 2pm, to be followed by a talk at 3pm on one of Hill End and Rylstone’s more colourful characters, Captain “Gus” Pierce, by Virginia Hollister.
