Australian gamer-to-racer Matt Simmons may join Nissan's bid to win back the Bathurst 12 Hour GT endurance race early next year as a reward for his promising debut season in Europe.

Simmons last year won an international competition that gives simulation game players the chance to become real-life racing drivers.
He has not raced a real car in Australia and the possibility of competing in the Bathurst 12 Hour would cap an already life-changing introduction to full-time racing.
"It'd be a dream come true because for me, it's one thing to become a professional racing driver, but it's another thing to be able to do it at home," Simmons said. "Anybody in sport wants to compete at home in front of their family and friends and fans.
"So I'll wait and see. My main aim is to obviously continue to do what I can do now in this [European GT endurance] series because it's so competitive."
