In his third solo exhibition at BRAG in twenty years, Wilson continues his quest to “fix a silent poem in clay”.
Just Draw curators Todd Fuller and Lisa Woolfe present thirteen Australian artists including Connie Anthes, Flatline, Hannah Bertram, John Bokor, Matilda Michell, Kellie O’Dempsey, Catherine O’Donnell, Hannah Quinlivan, Jeremy Smith, Jack Stahel, Grant Stewart, Jane Théau and Paul White, who all leverage the possibilities of the deceptively simple medium of drawing.
During the development of the exhibition Fuller and Woolfe selected artists’ works “which are so much more than just drawing,” allowing them to showcase the true breadth of practice across one of the oldest mediums.
To this end Just Draw includes several alternate methods of delivery; from performance to multimedia, as well as installation, sculpture, kinetics and robotics.
Each artist featured in the show has engaged in innovative approaches which challenge the standard notions of mark making and proves Australian drawing is very much alive.
Just Draw and Peter Wilson: Form and Flux on exhibition from until Sunday 2 October 2016.
Remember general entry to the Gallery is FREE.
