The annual event returns to Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre (BMEC) on Tuesday and will feature around 50 exhibitors.
Among them will be Charles Sturt University, Centrelink, TAFE Western and Lifeline Central West.
Lifeline Central West executive officer Alex Ferguson said the expo is a chance for his organisation to let people know about the telephone counselling training it offers.
“We think that the training and experience stands people in very good stead and that’s why we’ve put our hands up,” he said.
Mayor Gary Rush expects numbers at Tuesday’s expo to exceed the 1400 recorded last year.
“This year, the event is anticipated to be even bigger, with more exhibitors, job seekers and schools from across the region attending,” he said.
“More than 800 high school students from across the Central West including Bathurst, Orange, Oberon, Lithgow and Blayney will visit the expo.”
In addition to the exhibitors, people can hear from great speakers during presentations.
‘What employers want’ will see the Australian Government’s Department of Employment share insights from its employer surveys, provide a snapshot of local jobs and help people to explore their career options.
A second presentation will offer facts and tips about highlighting transferable skills, tailoring resumes and personal presentation to help those seeking a new career.
The expo will be at BMEC from 9am to 3pm on Tuesday.
Entry to the expo is free and there is no need to register attendance ahead of time.
