The body of Sabrina Bremer, 34, was found burning on a quiet bush track in Dulguigan, near Tweed Heads, on Thursday morning, about 100 kilometres from her home in Logan, Queensland.

A passing motorist stopped to extinguish the blaze, initially believing it was a burning log before realising it was a body.

The mother was last seen walking out of Logan police station last Monday afternoon after being arrested for failing to show at court on minor drug offences.

After a public appeal on Monday night, police located her 2002 white Toyota Camry on Tuesday morning parked on a residential street in Woodridge, in the Logan area.

Forensic officers were examining the vehicle on Tuesday as homicide detectives from NSW and Queensland desperately try to piece together her final movements.

Ms Bremer was captured on CCTV walking out of Logan police station last Monday wearing a black jumper with a red t-shirt underneath, black tracksuit pants with white stripes down the side, and bright pink sneakers.

She then made contact by phone with her teenage daughter on Tuesday however it's not clear whether this was by text message or phone call.

Her daughter filed a missing persons report with Logan police on Wednesday afternoon after repeated failed attempts to contact her mother.

"Has anyone seen my mum?" she posted on Facebook that day. "Nobody's seen her since Monday its f---ing serious".

She has since posted several tributes to her mother on Facebook.

"You never deserved any of this no matter what you did," she posted.

"You may not have been the most perfect person to some people but to me you were everything, I looked up to you, not in some things but you were honestly my hero, I will always love you even if you're not here & I will always stand up for you no matter what."

In another post, she wrote: "Its sad that when you're gone you see who cares about you. I know that if you had all this support a few weeks ago you might of still been here today."

A passing motorist found Ms Bremer at 7.30am on Thursday on the isolated Pollards Road at Dulguigan, in far north NSW.

"It's just a sad situation... we want to bring closure to the family," Tweed Heads Superintendent Wayne Starling said on Tuesday morning.

"We're making extensive inquiries to ascertain exactly what her last movements were."

Ms Bremer is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 170cm tall, with a medium build, dark brown hair with red highlights, and a stud-piercing below her lower-right lip.
