The final game of the season will pit together the two bottom placed teams in the competition but that won’t make either side any less determined to try and end the year on a high.
“We want to finish off the year on a positive note,” Mariners goalkeeper Adam Brackenridge said.
“The important thing for us against Dulwich is to hold together in defence. Earlier on in the year that defence was holding together well but it fell away towards the middle of the season. Over the last couple of weeks we’ve tightened it back up.”
The two sides met last month in a rescheduled clash, a game which went 3-1 in the way of Dulwich Hill.
Mariners come into the match off a heavy 7-1 loss to minor premiers Hills Brumbies but on Saturday will hope to reproduce their solid defence from the opening half of that match.
This will be the last match for the Mariners at this level before being relegated to State League.
“It’s still going to be a high grade of competition [in State League]. It might be a good opportunity too for the younger players coming through,” Brackenridge said.
Mariners are out for their first win since May and are trying to end the season with three victories.
