Theatre company Big One Little One has convinced a variety of local artists to delve into their childhood and find the moments that made them who they are today.
These artists will share their stories with an audience in a special performance appropriately titled Grown Ups Do Show and Tell. Props such as diary entries, artefacts, report cards and drawings are encouraged.
Organiser Nel Kentish said this was the second time Big One Little One has held an event of this kind in Bathurst.
The first event in June revealed a lot of interesting stories and fun moments, including jazz ballet demonstrations, photos of questionable haircuts, first songs and comedy routines, and diary entries about a teenage obsession with the Backstreet Boys.
“We’ve got some fantastically wonderful stories out of them and some embarrassing stories as well,” Ms Kentish said.

Among the guests at the upcoming event is Mitchell Conservatorium executive director Graham Sattler.
“Graham is such a showman, so I think he will have some really interesting stories to tell,” Ms Kentish said.
Mr Sattler hasn’t revealed too much about what his performance will entail, but said it is about his “strange trajectory from age five that I rarely get to look back at”.
“I’m reasonably new to the Bathurst community, I’ve only been here three years,” he said. “It is a great opportunity to be involved in the celebration of the arts community.”
Grown Ups Do Show and Tell will be held at Tommy’s Tex Mex from 3pm on Sunday.
Tickets $12 at the door, free for children under five. Food and drinks will be available.
Proceeds from the show will support Big One Little One’s new immersive work We Always Wanted To Be Professional Dancers, which comes to Bathurst on September 9 and 10.
