In the opening week of finals, Bathurst City put together a strong second half to sink Parkes 4-0. That victory booked a place in this Saturday’s minor semi-final against Orange Ex-Services.

Though Exies need to recover after a 1-0 loss to St Pat’s last week, the Orange side will hold the home turf advantage on Saturday.

“The whole way along when we realised first place was out of reach, I was really aiming to get second place because I wanted that home ground advantage,” Quinn said.

“The last thing I wanted to do was play Orange in Orange … it’s not to our advantage.”

Despite having to travel on Saturday, Quinn is feeling optimistic about the chances of her side, which is aiming to qualify for a third consecutive grand final.

“We are definitely feeling confident, we are definitely feeling positive, we didn’t expect to win 4-0 and to do that just proves everything fell into place for us at the right time. We just hope we can take that momentum into this week,” she said.

“We will be focusing on coming out as hard as we can, holding that for as long as we can and working hard for the 70 minutes.

“We’ve had the experience of fighting for our life – win or die – and we know the intensity we need to play with and take into this game.”

Saturday’s game will commence at 1.10pm.
