VERTO arranged for more funding for the class, so students could complete an extra four units, meaning they graduate with a dual certificate in ageing and disability.
VERTO graduate Kerry Preston, along with the rest of her classmates, completed 120 hours of work experience and learnt a lot.
“It’s a lot [of experience] and it was a real eye- opener for all of us,” Ms Preston said.
“There’s six of us who have got full-time work out of it, even before we finished, because the course was so good and because it has produced amazing, caring people.”
VERTO teacher Margot Steenson was on hand to celebrate with the graduating students.
