That’s because the race her runner managed to win was named to celebrate her mother’s 90th birthday – the Bette Holland Benchmark 55 Handicap (2,000 metres).
Both mother and daughter were present to watch their six-year-old pick up his long-awaited second career victory.
“The club was kind enough to name the race the Bette Holland Handicap and we were lucky enough to win it,” Mirfin said.
“He’s always had the ability to win a race like this but they kind of take their turns at winning, these sorts of horses. Today was just his turn.”
Super Pig ($4.20) galloped clear of race favourite Royal Reggie ($2.50) over the final 200m to win by three lengths.

Challenges at the top of the home straight from Metung Penny and Tickets On Kye fell by the wayside.
Super Pig had more to give than his more fancied rival, as Mirfin’s gelding went one spot better than his previous start.
Roy McCabe’s I’m Away ($8) was third, finishing half a length off the runner-up.
