Fuller finished fourth at the previous event, from 96 competitors, and he’s out again to make a strong showing against some of the world’s best players at Johannesburg, South Africa.
The Bathurst player’s goal is to try and get as close to that remarkable result once again.
“I lost to the number one seed in the semi, which I was just ecstatic about,” he said.
“This year there’s 107 in my age group. Last time I was unseeded but hopefully this time I’ll get seeded inside the top 16 somewhere.
“If I get anywhere near where I did last time I’ll be ecstatic. I got a bit lucky last time with my run through the draw.
“In my quarter final at the last event I probably had the best game I’d ever played to get to the semi. I just put it together at the right time.”
The competition runs from September 23-30.
