In this new space, they will be hosting their first guest exhibition titled “In the Presence of Iron”, opening at 6pm on Friday, September 9.
Heather Dunn, Margaret Ling and Colin Fenn are exhibiting works that are either made of metals or use metals in the process of producing the works.
T.arts Gallery director Nic Mason said their works would provide an exciting introduction to the new gallery space for visitors.
“We are really looking forward to showcasing this diverse exhibition all tied together by metal at our new venue at Bathurst Chase,” Ms Mason said.
Dunn’s textiles feature iron as a mordant for her dyeing and stainless steel as a yarn in her weaving.
There is even old wire fencing used as a frame (armature) for one of her weavings.
Ling has used oxides in the glazes of her pit fired generously proportioned pots.
We are really looking forward to showcasing this diverse exhibition.

Fenn has used a variety of metals in his sculptures, including bronze, cast iron, stainless steel and aluminum.
He works using the lost wax process to find the characters that appear in his sculptures.
He takes his inspiration from people in the community – you may just see yourself.
The new exhibition runs for two weeks and T.arts Gallery is open six days from 10am to 5pm weekdays (closed Tuesday) and 10am to 2pm on weekends.
