Bathurst Golf Club are searching for teams of four to take part in the ambrose format event, which offers exciting opportunities for the winning group.
“The Holden Scramble has been running around Australia now for 25 years and they had their one millionth competitor play this year,” Bathurst Golf Club professional Matt Barrett said.
“I’ve run it here for the last six years and Bathurst Holden have been supporting the event for those last six years with me. It’s a great teams event and the winners get to travel to the state final with me as their fifth player.
“The winner of that goes to Queensland for the national finals.”
Bathurst Golf Club has consistently pulled good numbers for the Holden Scramble each year and Barrett said this edition shapes up to be no different.
“We’re getting teams from Orange and Blayney coming along. We’ve also got a competition going on at Blayney for the first time this year,” he said.
“We wanted to go out and support the smaller clubs and Blayney needs that help … so we’re running one there on October 3rd. Members from Bathurst and around the area will go out to play in that one as well.
“You don’t get to play many teams events … so this is very well supported and the format’s a lot of fun.”
Entries remain open right up until midday Saturday. Those interested can enter the competition online at holdenscramble.com.au.
