Life Education, along with mascot Healthy Harold, has been rolling out a range of new programs, and students at Kelso were among those to learn the new lessons.
Kelso Public School teacher Sophie Holden said students thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
“Students participated in varied programs according to their age groups, including topics such as making friends, physical activity, keeping safe and balanced diet,” she said.
“Stage 3 students learnt about the effects of smoking and making sensible choices about passive smoking.
“Their visit from Healthy Harold supplements their work in Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE).
“It is a very worthwhile program for all.”
Life Education’s three new programs are for children aged five to eight years old and they target a range of topics including the body, diet, personal hygiene, physical activity and making good friends.
In the lead up to the visit, Kelso Public School assistant principal Carol Wise said the new programs were a great idea for students, especially since the topics link with the PDHPE syllabus.
