Mostert, alongside co-driver Steve Owen, placed fifth in their #55 Ford Falcon in testing wet conditions at Sunday’s Sandown 500.
That race is the traditional lead-up to the Bathurst 1000.
“To be top five, I'm pretty happy and I think we definitely had podium pace,” Mostert said.
“[I’m] Looking forward to the next event and getting back to Bathurst. My demon/glory track but I'm excited.
“I'm definitely getting some more consistency with the car, finishing well and qualifying well, so I'm pretty happy at this stage. We'll keep working for little gains and see how we roll out at Bathurst."
“It was good to race with Chaz. All seems to be working well so fingers crossed for Bathurst,” Owen added.
