The fair aims to become the number one spring event in the Central West, promoting artisan craft, local produce and quality products.
Royal Bathurst Show organisers will also use the spring fair to launch their revised 2017 show schedule, with workshops planned to help stall organisers get ready for next year.
Deputy chief pavilion steward Beth Pratley said the spring fair will provide a chance for word to get out about the Royal Bathurst Show’s new schedule.
“It’s good to keep the schedule current,” Ms Pratley said.
“This happens each year [changing schedule]. We keep the popular categories and move on the out of fashion ones.”
With campers already arriving at the showground, the spring fair is expected to be quite popular with the travelling fans for the Bathurst 1000, as well as the locals.
This Sunday’s spring fair will also feature a horse show and chief pavilion steward Kerri Small said the fair is an ever-growing event that leads to the bigger event – the Royal Bathurst Show – which will be held from April 28 to 30 next year.
“It [Royal Show] is one of the longest running events in the Central West and maybe even the state,” Ms Small said. “It will be a good chance on Sunday to get a show schedule for next year and to take a class to help with the show.
“Classes will help entries get ready for the show in advance and know what to expect for having a stall.”
Show organisers are always looking for more volunteers to offer a helping hand in the lead up to the Royal Show and even the weekend before to set up stalls.
“We encourage people to have a go, it’s your show,” Ms Small said.
“It’s a great way for the town to get involved.”
Ms Small said the Royal Bathurst Show is a great social event and the aim is continued growth and for a chance for the public to see the work organisers have put in.
Sunday’s Bathurst Spring Fair will run from 9am to 1pm.
