The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting Bendigo will receive up to 60mm of rain across Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The region is still drying out following the at times torrential falls that caused flooding in central Victoria two weeks ago.
BOM’s National Operations Centre director Dr Andrew Tupper urged people to take care.
"Many Australians are already dealing with flood warnings. With people on the move during school holidays, it's important that you plan your travels with the severe weather in mind," he said.
"Catchments in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania are currently saturated which means that any renewed rainfall could generate river rises and possible flooding.”
Bendigo is forecast to receive up to 20mm on Wednesday, 30mm on Thursday and 10mm on Friday.
