This did not deter Peter Buining and Stuart Brown who both returned fantastic scores of 40 points.
Eventually Buining was declared the winner on a count-back.
James Johnson rounded out second with 37 points.
The scratch has gone the way of Bill Casey with 31points.
Don Stapley and Correy Sams were the premier combination in the 2BBB courtesy of 45 points.
A count-back win over Casey and Brown, the scratch went to the powerful combo of Ben Hamer and Darrell Bourke.
The long course certainly kept the scoring low on Saturday.
Brian Hope’s 38 points was just good enough to hold off Adam Hodges and John Murphy who both had 36 points.
Visitor Martin Woods was the scratch victor with 31 points.
Geoff Arrow made a welcome return to the winners circle after a solid 37 points.
Jim Smail and Horst Hesse rounded out the minor placings on 35 points.
Twenty points enabled Geoff Crothers to win the scratch.
Trevor Dickie and Bob Ward were the premier 2BBB couple thanks to 44 points.
A slender one stroke margin over Geoff Coleman and Brian Weal.
The scratch has gone to the pairing of John Young and David Lilly.
Sunday’s running of the Holden scramble was a popular affair.
Featuring the quartet of Dylan Thompson, Gly Daunt, Dean Oxley and Adam Hodges (55.87) proving too strong for the others
The second place getters were Lance Williams, Fred Henessy, Scott Wilson and Troy Knox.
