Conservative commentator Paul Murray has announced he will broadcast his Sky News program from the Bathurst greyhound track on Thursday.
Mr Murray said he was keen to show his support to people in regional NSW through this show Paul Murray Live.
“There's only so much you can do from a studio,” he said. “I want to show the country the good people who are crushed by this needless decision.
“We want a full house to show the blokes back in Sydney that this matters. If you race dogs come, if you think the ban is unfair, come.”
Mr Murray added that it was already illegal to kill dogs or live bait, and said these laws must be enforced.
“Enforce those laws and let good people continue to love their dogs and race them with respect,” he said.

NSW Premier Mike Baird announced on July 6 this year that a ban on greyhound racing would be imposed from July 1, 2017. Mr Baird claimed there was “widespread illegal and unconscionable activity” in the state’s greyhound racing industry.
He said there was a “widespread practice of live baiting” and there had been a “mass killing” of more than 48,000 greyhounds in the past 12 years.
But, Bathurst Greyhound Racing Club track manager Jason Lyne said it was fantastic to know that Mr Murray was coming to Bathurst to lend his support to regional people.
“It’s fantastic, absolutely wonderful that he’s coming out to show his support for the industry,” he said.
“I’ll certainly be getting as many as I can to come along.”
Mr Lyne said he has already had confirmation greyhound owners trainers in Lithgow and Mudgee would attend the live broadcast.
Paul Murray Live will broadcast from Kennerson Park, Upfold Street, Gormans Hill in Bathurst, on Thursday, October 6 with the public invited to come along from 8.30pm. RSVP your attendance to audience@skynews.com.au. Entry is free
The show will air live from 9pm on Sky News Live.
