Race Week is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Bathurst & District Vietnam Veteran Association, with money made from firewood, campsite bookings and food sales.
Association president John Murphy said all the money raised goes back into the community.
“All the money goes back into either the park or towards the town’s welfare,” Mr Murphy said.
“We also like to say thanks to Edmund Suttor of The Rocks and Alan Storey on Sofala Road who allowed us to collect wood.”
The team at the memorial park sold more than 40 tonnes of firewood collected from Mr Suttor and Mr Storey’s properties, with more wood brought in to accommodate the 70 campers.
The Police Citizens Youth Club, Seymour Centre and Neighbourhood Centre have all benefited from the Vietnam Vets’ fundraising.
