Organiser Kath Parnell was thrilled with the turn-out at Peace Park on a perfect spring morning.
One Walk is an initiative of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation which also had an information stall set up at the park.
One Walks are held across the country but this is the first time Bathurst has hosted the event.
Ms Parnell, whose 16-year-old daughter Alex was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes two years ago, thanked all the walkers for their support.
“I am so grateful to everyone who helped put this together and everyone who came along to join in the walk,” Ms Parnell said.
“This is all about raising money to fund research into diabetes.”
Last year, One Walks attracted more than 200,000 participants across Australia and raised close to $1 million for diabetes research.
Organisers were still tallying the proceeds from the Bathurst walk late on Sunday.
