OBERON trainer Russell Reynolds had a shooting star in action at Parkes on Sunday in the form of his three-year-old Shadow Play filly, Star Play.

She showed enough gate speed to hold the lead from barrier two and, once in front, was never headed.
With Wayne Watterson in the gig, Star Play held off Big Heart after the green light was given, then kicked away to a 12-metre lead.
That closed to five metres with a lap to travel, but the $2.90 favourite was always in control.
Watterson took a couple of looks over his shoulder down the home straight, but he need not have worried.
Star Play went on to win by 4.6m over Ruth Shannon ($11.60).
