With over 19 competitors swimming, it was a successful meeting at the Mount Annan Long Course Carnival on Sunday for the Bathurst City Amateur Swim Club.

The Bathurst swimmers fared quite well, after the club was limited to only a handful of outdoor training sessions at home due to the weather.
Swim club vice-president Steven Howell was pleased with his squad’s effort, especially after some were backing up from a meeting prior to Sunday at Ryde.
“A lot of the kids swum quite well, so to back up and achieve some personal bests is good,” Howell said.
“We still need to work on our form strokes, such as butterfly, backstroke and breaststroke.”
Toby Partridge, who came first in the boys 9-10 years 50 metre butterfly, 50 metre backstroke and 50 metre freestyle, was one of the standouts on the day, alongside Patrick O’Hara.
O’Hara finished first in the boys 11-12 years 50 metre freestyle and 50 metre backstroke and second in the 50 metre butterfly.
Overall on the day, Bathurst achieved eight first place finishes, four seconds and six thirds.
Howell said the club will be working on encouraging a strong team atmosphere and trying to increase club numbers.
