Hastings won gold for NSW over 60s, after her team defeated Western Australia in the final 2-1, thanks to goals from Jane Spalding and Rose Cheetham.
The result saw NSW finish their campaign undefeated, scoring 18 goals in the process and only conceding four.
Hastings said it was a great honour to be selected to represent her state.
“I’m just happy to play, regardless of the result,” she said.
“There was four new girls in our team, so it was a quite stable cohort retained from last year.”
Hamer, who was playing her first tournament at master’s level, said her experience was amazing.
“It was incredible honour to be picked,” Hamer said.
“The coaches where supportive, welcoming and included all the newcomers into the team, which made the experience even better.”
Although Hamer’s over 50s side went undefeated in the pool stage, they went down to Western Australia 1-0 in the final.
Hamer said it was one of her best ever experiences in life, where she grew massively as a person, in confidence and her hockey skills.
