Pats were all bowled out for just 86 off 25.5 and Pat’s captain Brendan Cutmore is looking for a quick response from his team.
“We are looking for a shift in attitude,” Cuttmore said.
“Hopefully the players respond to the changes we made at training.
“We have worked really hard in training and we have taken ownership that last week’s result was a bad performance, but we have not allowed it to define our season.”
Pats will be aiming to stay on the oval for the whole 40 overs and to put in a strong innings, knowing how impressive their opponents were last week, after the Bulldogs chased down 211 for victory against the Centennial Bulls.
“Rugby are a quality team and they have a lot of depth in their batting,” Cuttmore said.
“They have a similar squad to last year, so they will not be easy to beat.”
Cuttmore was impressed last weekend with juniors Kieran Lindsay and newcomer Ben Parsons.
“The young guys were the biggest positives on the weekend, demonstrating to the senior players the fundamentals of cricket,” Cuttmore said.
Pats will host Rugby at Morse Park 2 on Saturday, before taking the remainder of their home games to The Scots School.
