Book launch by Dr Brian Sweeney, a look at Bishop Matthew Quinn’s role in Catholic education in NSW in the early years of the colony, will be held at the Cathedral Parish Centre in Keppel Street at 2.30pm. It will be followed by afternoon tea.

The National Cool Climate Wine Show will run until Sunday. Australia’s foremost wine judges are in town to judge the wines all week. The public tasting will be held on Friday from 6pm-9pm at the Bathurst Showground. Cost: $35 per person (tickets at the door). Visit www.coolwines.com.au
The Bathurst Red Cross branch and Red Cross store will be holding their Big Cake Bake fundraiser from 10am-2pm at 78 George Street to continue their great work.

As part of the Catholic Diocese of Bathurst sesquicentenary celebrations, Bishop Michael McKenna will preside at mass in the Cathedral from 9am and, in the afternoon, the Sisters of Mercy invite everyone to attend a garden party to be held at St Joseph’s Mount, Busby Street from 2pm-5pm to celebrate 150 years of the Sisters of Mercy.
