Yap Trap worked her way ahead of Jazzy Diva ($11) in the second last turn, before pulling away in the final stretch, with Get Watcha Get ($5) running in third.
An early collision between Yap Trap and Milko’s Magic ($3), pushed the favourite to the back of the pack, who eventually finishing second last.
Jazzy Diva pulled herself ahead early in the opening straight, but Yap Trap’s desires to overtake the leader was too good.
My Mum Joany ($7) had a strong start out of the blocks, but was unable to compete with the speed of the other greyhounds and fell back to fifth.
Yap Trap’s trainer and owner Warren Jarvis from Turill was happy with his brindle bitch’s ninth win from 48 starts.
“I am [happy with the result] with her because she’s been getting knocked out in the races, trying to come home,” Jarvis said.
“She’s getting stepped up to the 500 [metres] now.”
It was Yap Trap’s 26th placing and Jarvis will look to keep he’s training regime, of walking his greyhounds, the same.
Yap Trap’s next race will at the Dubbo RSL Stakes (516 metre) at Dubbo.
