The first-time selection for both players will see the duo take part in six matches of cricket around the Hawkesbury region in the NSW PSSA Girls Cricket Carnival, starting this Monday and running through until the finals on Thursday.
It’s been a long but rewarding pathway to Polding selection for both players.
The pair took on trials almost a year ago against other Central West primary school players in Dubbo.
Following that November trial, the Cathedral School’s Knight and Holy Family’s Webb went on to Polding selections in Lismore last February, where they were ultimately successful.
The duo each bring different strengths to the table.
Centennials Bulls player Knight is aiming to take Polding to victory with the bat while ORC’s Webb will be searching for the perfect line and length with the ball.
Awaiting Knight and Webb in their pool will be South Coast, North Coast, Sydney South West, Sydney North as well as their home region rivals Western.
Polding will meet Western in their opening match at 9am Monday and will follow that up with their match against South Coast in the afternoon.
They will then return to play a single match on the Tuesday morning against North Coast.
All teams will play a single finals match, which will be against the side from the other pool who finished in the identical position.
